the adventure with Orangutan Footprint starts at 9:00 AM with a meeting at your guesthouse in Bukit Lawang. After a short introduction and safety briefing, you will begin trekking into the rainforest of Gunung Leuser National Park.
Walking along natural jungle trails, your local English-speaking guide will explain the rainforest ecosystem, tropical plants, and wildlife. With some luck, you may encounter semi-wild and wild Sumatran orangutans, as well as monkeys, birds, and other rainforest animals. All wildlife encounters are ethical — no feeding and no touching.
During the trek, you will enjoy a fruit break with fresh tropical fruits, followed by a simple lunch in the jungle. In the late afternoon, you will arrive at the forest campsite, where you can relax and enjoy the peaceful jungle atmosphere.
In the evening, the Orangutan Footprint team will prepare a simple dinner in the jungle, enjoyed by candlelight, creating a calm and memorable experience in the heart of the rainforest. You will spend the night camping in the forest, surrounded by the sounds of nature.
Jungle Walk & River Rafting After breakfast in the jungle, the trek continues for approximately 4 hours, walking downhill through the rainforest toward the river. Enjoy the final jungle scenery and possible wildlife sightings along the way.
The adventure ends with a fun and refreshing river rafting experience along the Bohorok River, bringing you back to Bukit Lawang. You will arrive back at your guesthouse at approximately 2:00–3:00 PM.
